The National Family Preservation Network has been requested to share
information on the following reunification project and application
process: Casey Family Programs is sponsoring a Breakthrough Series Collaborative (BSC) on "Timely Permanency Through Reunification." Twenty (20) teams of public child welfare agencies/tribal agencies along with a court partner will be brought together to share knowledge, challenges, and successes over the course of two years. Participating jurisdictions will identify, develop, and test potentially promising strategies for improving practice in their child welfare and court systems that will ultimately support and improve timely permanence through reunification. The teams will be selected through a competitive application process. Please note that a private agency cannot apply as the lead applicant. However, a private agency can seek participation through their public child welfare agency. In jurisdictions in which private or community-based agencies perform significant child welfare functions related to permanence, applications will be accepted from the private agency if the state, regional, or county director of the public child welfare agency signs off on the application. Jurisdictions participating in this Breakthrough Series Collaborative (BSC) on Timely Permanency Through Reunification will be addressing nine component areas of practice improvement.
