Casey Family Programs Reunification Project |
The National Family Preservation Network has been requested to share
information on the following reunification project and application
process:
Casey Family Programs is sponsoring a Breakthrough Series Collaborative
(BSC) on "Timely Permanency Through Reunification." Twenty (20) teams of public child welfare agencies/tribal agencies along with a court
partner will be brought together to share knowledge, challenges, and
successes over the course of two years. Participating jurisdictions
will identify, develop, and test potentially promising strategies for
improving practice in their child welfare and court systems that will
ultimately support and improve timely permanence through reunification.
The teams will be selected through a competitive application process.

The National Family Preservation Network (NFPN) is pleased to announce that the Annie E. Casey Foundation will provide funding for NFPN to host an IFPS Summit in the fall of 2008.

Kentucky
is renowned for its famous Derby horse race. However, there are much
higher stakes in Kentucky than a horse race, and those are Kentucky’s
families involved in the child welfare system. A new research report
from Kentucky shows that the state’s family preservation and
reunification programs are winning the race in keeping these families
together.

Our mission is to serve as the primary national voice for the
preservation of families through Intensive Family Preservation and
Reunification Services (IFPS & IFRS). NFPN has developed a
comprehensive fatherhood initiative, because fathers are an integral
part of families. We believe that children deserve to remain safely with their families
when possible, and that all efforts must be made to reunite children
with their families, when it is safe to do so.
